Designed for the professional with a dedicated 9mm weapon system. The standard 5.56mm bolt hold open is utilized because of its superior strength over the 9mm version. The adapter can only be removed at the Armorer's level once installed. Holds open on last round with Colt type magazines. Colt pattern system.

I did some research and wanted last round hold-open, so I went with another manufacturer first. The build quality of the other one was nice and it indeed held the bolt back, but it shifted in the mag-well and caused stove-pipes after every single shot fired.
So, I read reviews about the Hahn dedicated adapter and decided to spend the extra few dollars for it and I could not be happier. Opened the package and knew right away that it was better than the other one as the feed-ramp was grooved for double-stacked magazines and did not wobble around like it did on the other one that I had. So, I tapped the bolt-catch roll-pin out slightly and removed the bolt-catch. I slid the adapter in through the top (it was a tight fit) and put the bolt-catch/roll-pin back in place. Very simple. From start to finish was 3 minutes and that included putting on tape to keep from scratching the receiver.
RRA magazines locked in nice and tight. Loaded a 32 round magazine with 30 rounds and chambered the first round. So far, so good. Pulled the trigger and no stove-pipe! Pulled again and again and again. No misfires at all. Shot two magazines with no issues. I am very happy and should have bought this one first.
If you are on the fence and trying to save some money, please do yourself a favor and get this one first. You'll thank yourself for avoiding the frustration of a device that won't work. Plus you'll more than likely end up buying this one anyway.

I had a cheaper mag block in my rifle for a few months first. It was great with ball ammo, but refused to run HPs or my favorite reloads, a 147gr TCN. I was also worried about the bolt catch eventually breaking, being anchored in to a block of plastic.
The Hahn fits great, and is all metal and sturdy as can be. Best of all are the feed ramps machined into it. It'll run any load I throw at it now.

I had another block that gave me several issues. I replaced it with the Hahn, now everything runs fine.

I build an AR Pistol with an upper and ProMag magwell. It would jam, fall to chamber 2 out of 10 shots (California 10 mag limit). I was constantly having to clear the chamber so I started my search which let me here to 9mmar.com. After reading the reviews I decided to spend the money. I arrived very quickly and I installed it and headed directly to the range. 200 rounds and not a single jam, not a single failure to chamber properly and my magazines fit better.
Buy this product if you have any cycling issues with a cheaper magwell block, it is not just night and day, it is a moonless night compared to a day on the equator.

I recently built a 9mm ar and was having feed and ejection issues with the promag block that came with my upper, the Hahn dedicated block solved my issues.

So easy to install. Fits mag well perfect. I did not want to spend the money, but now I am glad I did. Hahn Precision builds an excellent product.

By far the best fitting 9mm mag block currently available. Works flawlessly with Colt 9mm mags. Well worth the money spent. Highly recommended if you are building a dedicated 9mm AR. Very happy with my choice of this product.

The actual product itself is top-notch. Clean machining, fits tight in a Palmetto State lower with minimal (<1mm) wiggling. Unlike other blocks it's designed to take advantage of the existing AR bolt catch as well as the mag release to keep it anchored in place at the top while it rests on the bottom of the magwell like any other top-loading block. This makes it all but impossible to remove by accident, which is nice.
This isn't going to be the magwell block for quick changes of caliber in the field. It requires the removal of the bolt catch roll pin to install and uninstall, which anyone who has built an AR knows is probably the most frustrating part of assembling a lower and the highest probability to damage the finish. Hence the disclaimer that removal should be done "at the professional level." If you get this, you must have the correct roll-pin punch, and I highly suggest a vise.
